Hingham Youth Soccer is pleased to announce that registration for the Fall 2008 / Spring 2009 season is now available on-line (effective April 24, 2008) and by walk-in registration on Tuesday, May 13, 2008.
There will be a single evening for walk-in registration to be held at the Hingham Middle School, 1105 Main Street from 6:30pm to 9:00pm.
Meet Revolutions Player Michael Parkhurst
Selected by the Revolution in the first round (ninth overall) in the 2005 MLS SuperDraft
One of America’s top defenders, Parkhurst is a rarity: an effective central defender who is also a skillful soccer player ... 2007 was truly a career year for Parkhurst, garnering MLS “Best XI” honors, winning both the MLS Defender of the Year and Fair Play awards and earning his first international caps with the U.S. senior national team … often wins the ball because of his ability to read the play before it unfolds ... possesses a keen sense of tactical understanding and is a heady defender who plays bigger than his physique … has remarkable passing touch for a back and possesses deceptive speed … the 2005 MLS Rookie of the Year and 2006 MLS U.S. Soccer Foundation Humanitarian of the Year, Parkhurst devotes a great deal of time to appearances and community service initiatives … voted to the 2007 MLS All-Star Game as a “First XI” (top vote-getter) selection and his selection marked his second All-Star nod … grew up a fan of the Revs and attended the team's first ever home game at Foxboro Stadium in 1996.
The deadline for regular registration for Fall 2008 / Spring 2009 is Saturday, May 31, 2008 – all registrations by returning players for the Fall 2008 / Spring 2009 season from June 1 onwards will be subject to a $25.00 late registration fee. Players who register late are not assured of acceptance into the program and may be placed on a waiting list.
All boys and girls entering kindergarten (Fall 2008) and above are eligible to participate. The cost per child will be available on our web site and at the walk-in registration evening on May 13.
